Nespresso in the room and a mini bar, minus alcohol, but the M&Ms went down well. The bathroom was very good except I couldn't work out how to use the whirlpool bath! We had the deluxe balcony room at the back overlooking the quiet canal. I think the rooms at the front would be noisier as they face the road which is on the tram route. The staff are anxious to please and helped with carrying luggage, booking tickets for the Rijksmuseum and a cab to the airport when we left. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
We heartily recommend this hotel. People on this site have complained about the stairs. The building is in Amsterdam and the buildings are old, so few lifts. It is to be expected if you visit this place. Good tapas bar on the way down to Rembrandtplein! Just wandering around Amsterdam is a real education. We were completely bewitched by it and plan to go back. HINT: We had hoped to visit Anne Frank's House but it was booked up so we went to explore the Occupation Museum instead which is near the zoo and it was fascinating. If you do want to visit AFH book ahead online for a timed ticket. The queues are monumental! (Tripadvisor, 25 June 2015)
